Notice of Public Hearing on Tax Rate: 2026

The MONTGOMERY COUNTY MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 139 will hold a public hearing on a proposed tax rate for the tax year 2026 on Thursday, September 3rd, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at 9 Greenway Plaza, Suite 1000, Houston, Texas 77046. Your individual taxes may increase at a greater or lesser rate, or even decrease, depending on the tax rate that is adopted and on the change in the taxable value of your property in relation to the change in taxable value of all other property. The change in the taxable value of your property in relation to the change in the taxable value of all other property determines the distribution of the tax burden among all property owners.

Protect Our Sewer System: Don’t Flush “Flushable” Wipes!

Even products labeled flushable can cause serious plumbing and sewer problems:

  • Clog household plumbing and sewer lines.
  • Cause costly backups into homes and streets.
  • Damage pumps at wastewater facilities.
  • Increase utility maintenance costs for everyone.

Keep Water/Sewer/Tax Rates Low & Protect the Community:

DO NOT FLUSH:

  • Flushable wipes
  • Baby wipes
  • Cleaning wipes
  • Paper towels
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Cotton swabs & personal care products

Before 2020, MCMUD 139 (Fosters Ridge) averaged less than $8,000 per year combating “flushable” wipes.  By 2025 that number exploded to almost $200,000 and appears to be rising in 2026.  We need your help to keep these costs down and keep your system safe.
