Notice of Public Hearing on Tax Rate: 2026

The MONTGOMERY COUNTY MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 139 will hold a public hearing on a proposed tax rate for the tax year 2026 on Thursday, September 3rd, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at 9 Greenway Plaza, Suite 1000, Houston, Texas 77046. Your individual taxes may increase at a greater or lesser rate, or even decrease, depending on the tax rate that is adopted and on the change in the taxable value of your property in relation to the change in taxable value of all other property. The change in the taxable value of your property in relation to the change in the taxable value of all other property determines the distribution of the tax burden among all property owners.

Notice of Public Hearing on Tax Rate: September 4, 2025

The Board of Directors for Montgomery County Municipal Utility District No. 139 (MCMUD 139) will hold a public hearing on its proposed tax rate for the 2025 fiscal year.

The district is proposing to keep its total tax rate unchanged at $1.05000 per $100 of valuation. However, despite the stable rate, the average homeowner would see an estimated tax increase of $79.70 (2.09%) due to an increase in the average taxable value of homesteads after exemptions.
